Shop Tools was born in a real workshop, not a boardroom.
I’m Steve, an IT professional with over 20 years of experience in 3D design, and a lifelong tool tragic. I’ve spent years designing digital products by day and building, fixing, modifying, and organising things by night. I’ve renovated most of my own house, work on my own cars, and have always had a deep appreciation for good tools and well-thought-out setups. That passion started early, working alongside my dad on his classic cars, and it’s stuck with me ever since.
Like most tradies and hands-on people, I got sick of messy benches, wasted time, and storage solutions that almost worked. So I started designing my own. What began as a few custom organisation pieces for my own workshop quickly turned into something bigger when mates saw how clean and functional the setup was and wanted the same gear for themselves.
One of those designs became CANWALL - a modular wall system built specifically for aerosol cans like spray paint, WD-40, brake cleaner and more. It’s been refined, improved, and expanded to include caulking and silicone tube storage, all designed to work together as a flexible system that actually makes sense in a working environment.
Shop Tools exists to create smart, purpose-built organisation solutions for people who use their tools every day. Electricians, HVAC techs, carpenters, cabinet makers, plumbers, mechanics - if you need a better way to store, access, or organise your gear, that’s what I’m here to build. Alongside my own designs, I also stock select third-party products that meet the same standards I expect in my own workshop.
I also run a 4WD accessories business called Tough Toys, so I understand what it takes to design products that survive real use, not just look good online. Everything at Shop Tools is designed with durability, practicality, and real-world workflows in mind.

workshop. Designs are created, tested, refined, and used daily before they ever make it onto the site. If it doesn’t save time, reduce
clutter, or make work easier, it doesn’t make the cut.
These products are designed by someone who actually builds, fixes, renovates, and works on vehicles. Layouts, clearances, strength, and
access all matter — and they’re considered from day one.
Many storage solutions are “close enough.” Shop Tools products are built to suit specific tools, consumables, and trades, with modular designs that grow and adapt as your setup evolves.
Using advanced 3D design and manufacturing techniques allows for smarter shapes, stronger parts, and rapid improvement. If something can be
made better, it will be.
